Rebuilding everything from scratch with a clean install, and setting the following environment variables:
CC /usr/local/gcc/3.3.6/bin/gcc
CXX /usr/local/gcc/3.3.6/bin/g++
LD /usr/local/gcc/3.3.6/bin/g++
and look
